Rapper Foxy Brown on 'The Mo'Nique Show'
*A very, very emotional and heavier-than-we’ve-seen-her-in-years Foxy Brown appeared on “The Mo’Nique Show earlier this week. If you missed it, she discussed her hearing loss and referred to Mo’s other guest, Pam Grier, as her “second mother.”
Between tears the rapper offered up absolute reverence to Grier and told Mo’Nique of asking the veteran actress permission use the name. She also talked about her experience of going completely deaf a few years ago, which she considered to be a punishment from God.
“Wednesday night, I was up shooting the cover of XXL with Jay-Z, Kanye and Lebron and Thursday morning I woke up, and I couldn’t hear anything. I was completely deaf, 100%,” she explained. “I just knew that God had gotten even. I kept dodging Him, he kept giving me signs…They say God will get you first in private. If He don’t get you then, he’ll get you in public.”
